The primary purpose of this project is to reduce the potential for increased outbreaks of western pine beetle and pine engraver beetle by lowering the basal area below 40 square feet and trees per acre of the immediate surrounding area.
Location
Lincoln County Montana, one and a half miles north east of the city center of Libby, Mt and located within the Wildland-Urban Interface (WUI). The project will occur on National Forest lands within; section 34, T31N R31W.
