Commercial and non-commercial harvest of pine to reduce fire hazard in WUI areas, increase forest resilience, create a mosaic of forest conditions, enhance hardwood and meadow areas, and move the project area toward management area objectives.
Location
The Chimera project area is located immediately east of Deadwood, SD, and south of Sturgis, SD in the northeastern corner of the Northern Hills Ranger District.
