Big Slide Avalanche Mitigation

This project proposes to install a "Gazex" remote exploder system on National Forest System Lands in the Big Slide Area near Monarch Pass to be utilized for avalanche mitigation along the U.S. Highway 50 corridor.

Location

The Big Slide area lies just east of the Monarch Ski Area along U.S. Highway 50 near Monarch Pass in Chaffee County, Colorado.
