Slim Fire Reforestation

Apache-Sitgreaves National Forests Navajo, Arizona Black Mesa Ranger District

This project is looking to plant up to 269 acres of trees in areas burned in the 2017 Slim Fire. 80 - 300 Ponderosa Pine seedlings per acre are proposed following broadcast burning and site prep, with Douglas-Fir also being planted in ravines.

Location

The project area is located in the burn scar of the (2017) Slim Fire, northwest of the community of Forest Lakes, AZ on the Black Ranger District.
