The Silver City Ranger District has identified abandoned mine sites that pose a threat to public safety and Forest Service personnel. These sites will be covered either by backfilling or using bat friendly gates.
Location
Malone sites 18 miles southwest of Silver City in Burro Mountains. Fire sites 15 miles sw of Silver City in Burro mnts. Walnut approx. 7 miles NW of Silver City.
