Black Canyon Stream Restoration

Gila National Forest Grant, New Mexico Wilderness Ranger District

Wilderness RD is scoping a restoration proposal by New Mexico Environmental Dept. for projects in Black Canyon, to reduce water temperature impairment through planting, improving instream habitat for Gila trout and watershed function.

Location

Black Canyon is located approx. 18 miles north of Wilderness RD office. The project extends east of private land to confluence with Aspen Canyon within Aldo Leopold Wilderness.
