Medio Fire Restoration: Post Fire Rehabilitation

Santa Fe National Forest Santa Fe, New Mexico Espanola Ranger District

Install in-stream structures such as one-rock dams and log vanes in Rio en Medio and four small tributaries that were impacted by the Medio Fire. Intent is to create conditions to reduce likelihood of head cutting, channel degradation and soil loss.

Location

About 14 miles north of downtown Santa Fe in the Rio en Medio drainage.
