The project involves various improvements to the Needle Rock Recreation Area. Improvments will include road construction and widening, vehicle barriers, gates, vault toilet buildings, dumpster pads, parking areas, interpretive signs, picnic sites.

Needle Rock Recreation Area is located on National Forest System lands just north of the community of Rio Verde and adjacent to Verde River from Camp Creek Wash south to the Fort McDowell Indian Reser
