Oregon Hill Road Shaft Closure

Plumas National Forest Yuba, California Feather River Ranger District

We propose to close an open 6 feet across by 30 feet deep abandoned mining shaft by using heavy equipment to pull in surrounding soils and fill the shaft. The shaft presents a hazard to health, safety, and resources.

Location

Oregon Hill Road (Pendola Fire) shaft is located about 100 feet above paved Oregon Hill Road. The 6 feet wide by 30 feet deep shaft is on the south side of an old overgrown non-system road.
