Cow Meadow Enhancement Project

Deschutes National Forest Deschutes, Oregon Bend/Fort Rock Ranger District

Project will improve habitat for Rocky Mountain Elk and a variety of bird species on about 170 acres of meadow habitat on the north shoreline of Crane Prairie Reservoir by cutting conifers, primarily lodgepole, and prescribed burning in the fall.

Location

Crane Prairie Reservoir is located approximately 26 miles southwest of the City of Bend and approximately 16 miles northwest of LaPine, Oregon. The Cow Meadow campground is nearby.
