Klone Vegetation Management Project

Deschutes National Forest Deschutes, Oregon Bend/Fort Rock Ranger District

The Klone project area is 34,636 acres. The purpose of the project is to improve forest resilience against uncharacteristically large disturbance events such as wildfire, insects, and disease through treatments such thinning and fuels reduction.

Location

South of Bend, OR and east of Sunriver, OR. The western boundary is the Forest Service boundary with private land. Forest Road 9720 is the northern boundary, Forest Road 9735 is the southern boundary.
