Modoc Pileated Habitat Project

Fremont-Winema National Forest Klamath, Oregon Chemult Ranger District

Scoped under Modoc Restoration Project EA. Thin small trees (<7” DBH) with chainsaws over 742 acres & hand pilw a 200 foot wide strip along roads (approx. 130 acres) to maintain & enhance old growth trees that provide pileated woodpecker habitat.

Location

The project is in the Modoc Planning Area of the Upper Williamson watershed on the Chemult District. The project area is within the Former Reservation Lands of the Klamath Tribes.
