The proposed action is designed to reduce and control stand density through non-commercial thinning (also called pre-commercial thinning) on overstocked stands.

Location

Non-commercial thinning of young stands is proposed on up to 34,427 acres across the Cowlitz Valley Ranger District, Mount St. Helens National Volcanic Monument, and Mt. Adams Ranger District.
