WSDOT I90 Avalanche Control Towers

Mount Baker-Snoqualmie National Forest King, Washington Snoqualmie Ranger District

Installation of 7 avalanche control towers along I-90 in King County. Towers will replace aging/decommissioned howitzer program to increase program operator and traveling public safety in winter conditions.

Location

5 towers on Granite Mtn and 2 towers on Denny Mtn in King County, WA. Upslope from Interstate 90 in known avalanche chutes between MilePost 50 and 52.
