This fuel break will improve fire-fighting abilities and reduce the potential for fire spread in high-risk areas that developed due to fire suppression and insects allowing for high tree density, mortality and fuel loads over the past 100 years.
Location
Approximately 50 miles east of Prineville, OR; Paulina District, eastern Ochoco NF; north half of Jackson subwatershed and NE corner of Black Mountain subwatershed.
