The Pearson Gap project is designed to improve the resiliency of important red-cockaded woodpecker habitat to southern pine beetle infestations, while moving the area toward the desired condition of longleaf woodlands with intermixed savannahs.
Location
The Project area is located 15 miles southeast of Tuscaloosa Alabama in Compartments 8 and 12 of the Talladega NF, Oakmulgee District.
