This wildfire was one of three that started as lightning strikes on June 6, 2011 under extreme drought conditions; these fires were grouped as the Impassable Bay Complex 2011. Most of the area had young slash pine or newly planted longleaf pine.
Location
In the recently acquired area known as Sandlin Bay; activities under the CE will occur west of Forest Road 291, and south of 291-D.
