The Osceola National Forest proposes to thin mature timber and pine plantations in areas near Ocean Pond, in the south-central area of the forest. These sites are crowded stands with a dense woody understory which creates hazardous fire fuels.
Location
Areas near the Ocean Pond Day Use area, recreational summer homes, and Ocean Pond campground - bounded by FS roads 241 to the west, County Road 250A to the east, and south of Interstate 10.
