Hurricane Michael Timber Stand Improvement Project

National Forests in Florida Calhoun; Liberty, Florida Apalachicola Ranger District

The primary purpose of this project is to reduce the fuel loading and restore forest health in areas that were damaged by Hurricane Michael by removing downed and damaged trees.

Location

Damaged areas included in this project include the Chipola Experimental Forest (compartment 198), three stands near the Apalach ranger district workcenter (4-16, 4-17, 13-3, 14-1, 24-2)and other areas
