Major Fire Vegetation and Wildlife Habitat Improvement

National Forests in Florida Marion, Florida Lake George Ranger District

Harvest about 616 acres of damage timber stands from the Major Wildfire. There is about 500 acres of Sand Pine Scrub and 116 acres of Slash Pine. Removing the damage timber will reduce future fuel loading and create scrub jay habitat.

Location

The project area is located on the Ocala NF north of Juniper Prairie Wilderness and north of Silver Glen. Within Compartments 62 and 62, along Forest Road 46 and east of SR 19.
