Caseknife Thinning Vegetation Management Project

George Washington and Jefferson National Forests Pulaski, Virginia Eastern Divide Ranger District

Commercial free thinning of 2 mixed pine-hardwood stands to improve the health and vigor of the residual trees. The stands are predominantly White pine and oak that are overstocked. Post-harvest activities include monitoring and treatment for NNIS.

Location

The Project Area is approximately 4 air miles west-southwest of the city of Pulaski. The project straddles the Pulaski and Wythe County lines southwest of Gatewood Reservoir.
