South Zone Thinning Project

National Forests and Grasslands in Texas Houston; Trinity, Texas Davy Crockett Ranger District

Commercial thinning of 18-41 year-old naturally or artificially regenerated pine stands. Stands are currently overstocked which increases competition for nutrients and sunlight and increases susceptibility to insects and disease.

Location

Southern Davy Crockett National Forest Compartments 82-86, 91-95, 97, 98, 100-107 and 109. Area is northwest, north and northeast of the town of Groveton, Texas.
