Boise National Forest — Project Detail

The Boise National Forest, Idaho City Ranger District, proposes to assess a proposal for continuation and expansion of an existing placer mining operation on 5 acres over a period of 5 years.

The Emmett Ranger District of the Boise National Forest proposes to conduct hazardous fuels and insect and disease reduction treatments in the Murray Creek area.

The period for public submission of objections to the project has closed. A final decision will not be made until after the requirements of 36 CFR 218.12, Timing of Project Decision, have been met.

The Central Idaho Antimony Project involves two exploration trenches adjacent to forest service roads for the purposes of exposing and mapping mineralization of lode claims. Small samples may taken for assaying prior to reclamation of the trenches.

Proposal for continuation of a placer mining operation as previously analyzed and approved. This DNA is tiered to the original New Start - JaBob Mining Project EA.

A project to allow for annual prescribed burning to achieve restoration objectives.

The purpose of the of this Federal action is to respond to the operator's PoO for mineral exploration as necessary to meet Forest Service regulations within the context of federal mining laws

Address impacts from the 2024 Snag and Nellie Fires by implementing hazard tree mitigation, salvage, reforestation/revegetation, recreation and access management, and road/infrastructure maintenance/repairs.

The Forest Service is considering amending its land management plans to address new and evolving issues arising since implementing sage-grouse plans in 2015. This project is in cooperation with the USDI Bureau of Land Management.

Fully replace five existing trail bridges over Lime Creek, Elk Creek, Poison Creek, and Johnson Creek as well as relocate and re-emplace an existing washed-out trail bridge over Roaring River and realign several segments of the Roaring River trail.

The project would decommission NFSR 490; remove the old bridge, abutments, and road fill from the active floodplain of the South Fork Salmon River.

Use a variety of treatment methods to control and contain noxious and invasive weeds within the South Fork Salmon River Subbasin. Separate decisions will be issued for the Payette (May 2007) and Boise National Forests (February 2010).
