Release Louisiana Pinesnakes on appropriate habitat of the Kisatchie NF

Commercial harvest and restoration to reduce the risk of Insect and Disease.

The Proposed Action will allow the JRTC and Fort Johnson to continue utilizing 98,125 acres of Kisatchie National Forest lands for military training activities critical to their readiness mission.

The purpose of the project is to treat terrestrial and aquatic invasive plant species occurring forest-wide in the KNF. In addition to nonnative invasive species, the project would treat some native species that are problematic in certain areas.

The project area is approximately 5,572 acres which includes activities of thinning, clearcutting, site preparing, planting of yellow pine, releasing seedlings, mechanical fuel reduction, herbicide application, RCW cavity installation, etc.

Place a fiber-optic cable along the southwest side of LA-8 beginning approximately 90 ft. west of LA-8 proceeding west along the southwest & northwest side of LA-8 for approximately 1.33 miles to #6461 Then south for .289 ft.

Trail and Site repair on the Calcasieu Ranger District

Presently, the trail system is closed due to severe resource damage from hurricane and tornado events. This project will rehabilitate the trail to a sustainable grade and condition.

Renew or re-issue a special use permit to City of Winnfield for maintenance and operation of a 6" waterline to the CCA or Prison Facility on the Gum Springs Rd.
