Bear Trap Fire Reforestation

Cibola National Forest and National Grasslands Socorro, New Mexico Cibola National Forest All Units

This project will replant appropriate native timber species such as ponderosa pine and Douglas-fir in areas severely burned in the 2022 Bear Trap Fire. Planting 200 acres or more at 100 to 300 trees per acre over each of the next 5 years (2025-2030).

Magdalena Ranger District, south San Mateo Mountains.
