Apache Canyon Fuels Reduction and Forest Restoration

Cibola National Forest and National Grasslands Torrance, New Mexico Mountainair Ranger District

The purpose of the project is to improve the ecosystem resilience of a priority landscape to future disturbances by restoring forest structure and composition and reducing the risk of catastrophic wildfire.

Location

The project area is located in the Manzano Mountains that lie directly east of the Rio Grande and west of the Land Grant/communities of Tajique and Torreon.
