Research - Understanding Bat Population Dynamics and Disease Risk

Researcher purposes a multi-year project from June 2026 - September 2030 to monitor bat populations and detect early signs of White-Nose Syndrome, a fungal disease. The proposed study will focus on three migratory nectar-feeding bat species.

Location

Peloncillo, Chiricahua, Dragoon, Huachuca, Canelo Hills, Patagonia, Whetstone, Santa Rita, Tumacacori, Pajarito, Santa Catalina, Rincon, Galiuro, and Santa Teresa Mountain Ranges.
