Marys Peak Thatch Burning Project

Siuslaw National Forest Benton, Oregon Central Coast Ranger District/Oregon Dunes National Recreation Area

This project is intended to remove built-up thatch produced from a large patch of treated creeping velvetgrass (Holcus mollis) by mowing, burning, and other actions and to revegetate these sites with native plants sourced exclusively from Marys Peak.

Location

The proposed footprint for prescribed fire is 1-2 acres just NW of the Marys Peak day use parking lot.
