Sagebrush Enhancement

White River National Forest Eagle; Routt, Colorado East Zone/Eagle Ranger District

Remove up to 1,400 acres of pinon-juniper, burn up to 1,650 acres of sagebrush, and mow up to 770 acres of sagebrush to benefit greater sage-grouse, mule deer, Brewer’s and sage sparrow and reduce fuels. Seed and replant the area.

Location

Seven areas identified for possible treatment: Berry Creek, Muddy Creek, High Trail Gulch, Cottonwood Mesa, Pipe Creek, Gypsum Creek, and Sunnyside.
