Butler Creek BDA Project

White River National Forest Garfield, Colorado West Zone/Rifle Ranger District

The project would utilize untreated wood posts and on-site materials to build multiple beaver dam analogs (BDAs). These temporary structures would be constructed by hand and would mimic the influence of beaver dams on the stream and riparian area.

Location

Butler Creek, Coulter Mesa, roughly 16 miles north of Rifle, Colorado.
