East Walker Landscape Habitat Improvement Project

Humboldt-Toiyabe National Forest Lyon; Mineral, Nevada Bridgeport Ranger District

This project would improve, enhance, and protect bi-state sage grouse habitat, increase habitat connectivity, and reduce the risk of high intensity wildfire by reducing pinyon-juniper encroachment using mechanical methods.

Location

Project area is approximately 15 miles north of Bridgeport, CA and includes lands in Lyon and Mineral counties. Project area is near the East Walker River, Sweetwater Flat, and the Pine Grove Hills.
