Emery County proposes exchanging 2.5 acres of NFS land for 7.5 acres of county land to give the County jurisdicition over the Crandall Canyon memorial established in honor of the six miners and three rescuers who died in the 2007 mine disaster.
Location
The federal parcel is located in Crandall Canyon adjacent to the existing mine. The non-federal parcel is located in Huntington Canyon along SR 31 approximately 12 miles east of Huntington.
