Hoop Lake and Poison Mountain winter range vegetation improvement project

Uinta-Wasatch-Cache National Forest Summit, Utah Evanston-Mountain View RD

The Forest Service proposes a lop-and-scatter treatment using chainsaws to restore aspen, shrubs, forbs, and grasses. All live conifers would be removed. Treatments would begin in August to avoid disturbance to nesting migratory birds.

Location

In the Hoop Lake and Poison Mountain areas of the ranger district in the Beaver Creek watershed.
