Commercial thinning of 60-80 yr old plantations to reduce inter-tree competition and susceptibility to abnormal levels of bark beetle infestation. Stands are currently exibiting initial increases in bark beetle infestation levels.

Location

South side of Log Springs Ridge in the vicinity of Log Springs fire station, about 15 miles west-southwest of Paskenta. Located in Sacramento River Basin.
