Early-Seral Open Wildlife Habitat Enhancements

Olympic National Forest Clallam; Grays Harbor; Jefferson; Mason, Washington Olympic National Forest All Units

Wildlife habitat enhancement activities on up to 500 acres. Includes removal of small trees (<18" dbh) and shrubs using hand tools to expand existing openings or create new openings (less than 5 acres; generally <1 acre) in densely stocked stands.

Location

Low to mid elevation openings located throughout the Forest. Areas include natural balds, meadows, and early-seral forests in the Dungeness, Skokomish, Upper Wynoochee, and Calawah River Watersheds.
