Forest Service Road 2610 washed out during the January 2002 storm event. Environmental analysis will be conducted to determine access to Olympic National Park and Forest Service campgrounds.

Removal and decommissioning of existing campground infrastructure within the river floodplain. This phase was identified as necessary to re-open the campground and provides access to sustainable and safe recreation opportunities.

Four bedrock locations along the Duckabush Trail will be blasted to maintain safe use and accessibility by pack animals. Total length of treatment is less than 100 linear ft. hand tools and blasting charges will only be used.

The Comprehensive Plan will develop administrative and management objectives and practices and desired conditions for the Pacific Northwest National Scenic Trail on public lands in Forest Service Regions 1 and Regions 6.

Hood Canal Communications (HCC) is proposing to modify their existing special use permit to include the installation of new fiber optic cable along sections of the Dosewallips Road, the Duckabush Road, and Highway 101 that cross over FS land.

Proposal to improve water & wastewater systems, additionally deferred maintenance actions inlcuding flooring, ADA accessibility, bathroom rebuild at the Louella Cabin Recreation Rental and administrative site.

Replacement of two authorizations with a single new special use permit to Clallam County PUD #1, authorizing the continued operation and maintenance of existing buried and aerial power transmission and distribution lines, for a term of 20 years.

Amendment to The City of Tacoma's existing permit for the Wynoochee Hydroelectric Facility to authorize the replacement/relocation of an electrical cabinet and additional appurtenances, containing equipment used to monitor river temperatures.

T-Mobile is proposing an amendment to their existing communications site lease for the installation of an emergency backup generator adjacent to their existing equipment at the Neilton Point Comm Site.

Permit Rayonier, Inc. to reconstruct 400 ft and construct 800 ft of road for long term access to private timber land. Reconstruct 100 ft of Forest system road. This project was proposed in 2014 but was delayed. A permit, then easement will be issued.

Rebuild of recreation residence cabin on lot 112.

The issuance of a tailhold permit to WA Department of Natural Resources for use of seven tailhold trees on USFS land (in T27N R2W sec.21) to facilitate cable yarding systems for harvest of the Pennywise timber sale on adjacent Washington State lands.

Restoration thinning (commercial harvest) of about 70 acres to accelerate the development of late-successional forest structure and wildlife habitat. Includes replacement of one culvert at MP 0.22 of Forest Road 2204000.

Issuance of two tailhold special use permits to the WA Department of Natural Resources. One permit is for the use of 2 tailhold trees on USFS land in T28N R2W Sec.16. The other permit is for the use of 6 tailhold trees on USFS land in T26N R2W Sec.2.

Reissue a 20-year term Special Use Permit for the use and associated maintenance of a boat launch on the Hoh River.

Proposal to replace a deteriorating trail bridge with a new trail bridge on the Big Creek Trail.

Thin second growth forest stands to accelerate old growth habitat development. Identify minimum road system to match maintenance budgets.

The issuance of a new communications site lease to AT&T for collocation on an existing Verizon Wireless monopole, and ground space for a new equipment shelter/ related equipment at the North Point Communications Site.

The amendment of an existing Verizon Wireless communication site lease for a 11-foot extension to the existing 100-foot monopole to accommodate the installation of additional antennas at the North Point Communication Site.

The Olympic Peninsula Guides Association (OPGA) is proposing to convert the Snider Creek Fish Rearing Facility to a public trout fishing pond to support the Kids Fishing Day in Forks, WA.

Amendment to CenturyLink's current special use permit to include the installation, operation, and maintenance of approximately 7,500 feet of new buried fiber optic cable along the north side of South Shore RD in Quinault, on USFS land.

Stafford Lumber proposes to improve an existing road to access private property.

Amendment to an existing communications site lease for New Cingular Wireless to include the addition of a backup generator, associated raised steel platform, and utility conduits to their existing equipment at the Neilton Point Communication Site.

Thinning 7 acres of second growth forest for late successional habitat development. Reconstruction of 0.1 miles of temporary road. Will be implemented with Cubbie timber sale approved by Upper S Fork Skokomish Vegetation Mgmt EA decision (2013).

Log jam construction on the Dungeness and Gray Wolf Rivers to improve fish habitat. Log jam construction requires harvest of trees 18 to 27 inches in diameter on up to 2 acres off Forest Road 2878080.

Develop Off-Highway Vehicle (OHV) trail system and staging area in the Bonidu area within the North Fork Calawah watershed. The proposal would provide about 22 miles of interlinking trails and close/rehabilitate about 6 miles of user created trails.

Treatment of about 25 miles of roads identified in the Dungeness Watershed Action Plan as impacting or at risk of impacting aquatic resources. Treatment may include road closures, road decommissioning, or road to trail conversions.

Navy is proposing training electronic warfare range consisting of the movement and operation of mobile emitters. This EA is tiered from previous EIS. Several sites are on Forest Service Roads. Navy documents at: http://go.usa.gov/36s35.

Improve safety and access to West Fork Humptulips River. Project includes realigning existing pedestrian access path, constructing 155 ft of new pedestrian access path, and enlarging the existing parking area.

Reissuance of a special use permit to NRCS for two existing SNOTEL sites, and one new site that includes the proposal to change the status of approx. 1,500 ft. of FS road 2353-230 from an open public road to administrative access only.

A special use permit reissuance to UNAVCO INC for continuing research to monitor tectonic processes using two existing GPS monitoring devices, and one new seismic monitoring device, located at two existing sites on NFS land, for a period of 20 years.

Replacement of a special use permit authorizing the continued operation and maintenance of existing buried and aerial power transmission and distribution lines, for a period of 20 years. The action will replace two permits issued in 1979 and 1980.

This project is for the reissuance of a special use permit to Jose Cisneros-Sanchez for the continued presence of several shake mill structures on National Forest System land, for a period of 20 years.

Green Diamond Resource Company has applied for authorizations to (1) reconstruct, use, and decommission FSR 2200-015 (2) haul rock and timber on FSR 22, and (3) use three trees as tailholds for harvest of unit GH-140.

Non-native mountain goat removal to address resource and safety issues on the Olympic Peninsula. Goats could be removed from the Olympic National Park and Forest. Goats could be translocated to Mount Baker-Snoqualmie and Okanagon-Wenatchee NFs.

The proposed action is the issuance of a new 20-year special use permit to Jefferson County PUD for the operation and maintenance of 0.8 miles of existing buried power distribution lines.

This project would design and replace the existing water distribution systems in Falls Creek Campground and Willaby Campground near Lake Quinault.

Reissuance of an existing special use permit for the Quinault Indian Nation for the continued use and maintenance of an existing water transmission line on National Forest System land, for a period of 20 years.

American Tower Corporation on behalf of T-Mobile, proposes to modify an existing telecommunications facility located at the North Point Communication Site with the addition of a backup generator pad.

Washington State Department of Natural Resources proposes to construct two new spur roads to access State timberlands. Lengths are 1030 feet and 1700 feet.

The Washington State Deptartment of Natural Resources is proposing to access state land via National Forest System road 3030000 and a new spur approximately 1200 feet long.

Stabilize the 2527 and 2727017 road system and place in a state of temporary storage/closure. The DNR proposes to remove stream crossings on adjacent land restricting road access for the near term.

Thin approximately 68 acres of second growth forest stand to accelerate old growth habitat development.

Remove two culverts on Ziegler Creek, a fish-bearing stream in the Upper Quinault Valley. National Forest System road 2272170 is a short road crossing which is no longer needed. Culvert removal will restore channel conditions.

Verizon proposes to install a new building and tower along Highway 101 to provide better service in the area.

Removal of infected trees, or at risk of infection from root disease, that are a safety hazard within the Falls View Campground. Proposed activities within the 22 acre campground include tree removal and revegetation of the site with native species.

Vegetation management (timber harvest) and restoration treatments on 4,000 acres to accelerate development of late-successional forest habitat conditions for wildlife and watershed health, and to contribute to local economies.

Convert about 2.5 miles of decommissioned road to trail status and construct two ½ mile trail segments to create a 6-mile loop trail.

Reissue a 20-year term special use permit authorizing Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife to install and use two seasonal Chinook salmon acclimation sites on the Dungeness and Gray Wolf Rivers.

Restore habitat complexity, fish utilization, and natural flow at Haag Springs and an inlet stream of the Bogy-Tucker pond. In-stream structures (wood) would be modified to improve habitat connectivity and quality for coho salmon.

Reissuance of a 20-year expired Special Use Permit for use and maintenance of a private road on National Forest System land to provide access to a private residence. The driveway leaves Herrick Road at milepost 0.5 and extends 800' east.

Maintain rearing and spawning habitat for adult and juvenile salmon and trout. Gravel will be added to maintain spawning areas and small brush bundles will be modified to improve juvenile cover.

Issue a 20-year Special Use Permit to the Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) to install a Snow Telemetry (SNOTEL) site. The SNOTEL will occupy approximately 0.4 acres with an additional buffer zone of 400 feet.

Permit Rayonier, Inc. to reconstruct approximately 400 ft of road and construct another 800 ft to access private timber land. Total right-of-way length would be 1292 ft by 60 ft in width. Total acreage would be 1.7 acres.

Reissue 20-year Special Use Permit for the Rocky Brook Hydroelectric facilities located on National Forest System lands.

Proposal by T-Mobile to install telecommunications facilities at the Neilton Point Communications Site consisting of a base transceiver located within a new 8 by 10 ft equipment shelter and placement of antennas on an existing monopole tower.

Issue a 30-year lease to install telecommunications at North Point Communications Site by T-Mobile. Construct a new 8 by 8 foot equipment shelter for base transceiver station equipment and placement of 4 antennas on a 100 foot monopole tower.

Modify Grays Harbor County Public Utilities District existing Special Use Permit to remove or top up to six trees that are interfering with transmission from the Neilton Point electronic site.

Forest Service Road (FSR) 2870-0230 at Milepost (MP) 1.3 maintenance within the right-of-way, to recondition road, parking lot and replacement of 36" culvert. Maintenance includes regrading, compacting and resurfacing to restore recreational access.

Reissuance of five expiring communication use leases at Neilton Pt. Communication Site (Grays Harbor County and PUD#1; Crown Castle USA; CenturyLink).

Reissue 20-year Special Use Permit to Rain Forest Resort, Inc. for operation and maintenance of the Lake Quinault Chevron gas station and garage.

Repair and reconstruct approximately 6.2 miles of trail, including some tread relocation and minor reconstruction, replacement of gravel surfacing, and drainage structure repair.

Precommercially thin up to 800 acres per year of 17 to 39 year-old trees during the next five years (Fiscal Years 2016-2020). Stands will be thinned generally to spacings of 12 to 20 feet (300 to 100 trees per acre, respectively).

Stabilization of storm damage to include: removing the failed culvert, pullback and stabilizing the eroded embankment, berming each side of the repair area, and creating cross drains to divert water away from the site.

Road maintenance within the right-of-way prism for FS-2610 (crossing at Case Creek), FS-2620 (repair culvert and washout), and FS-2650 (pipe replacement).

Partner with the Jamestown Sklallam tribe to construct 15 large wood jams and stabilize 3 naturally occurring wood jams in the Grey Wolf and Dungeness Rivers.

Authorize Interfor to tie onto five trees or stumps on Kugel Ridge (off of FS Road 2929) adjacent to Kugel Den Timber Sale on DNR land. The selected trees would be left on site and standing.

Authorize Quinault Indian Nation to use tailholds located on National Forest System land.

Authorize Rayonier to use National Forest tail holds (total of 11 tailholds) to safely achieve logging system suspension. No trees will be cut and there will be no ground disturbance on National Forest System land.

Reissue 10 expiring or expired Special Use Permits. The permits include waterlines, private road use, seismic research stations, and a patrol cabin. No changes or new ground disturbance are proposed.

Permit Green Diamond Resource Company access across approximately 800 feet of National Forest System land to their timberland.

Work would reduce operational maintenance level (ML) from ML2 to ML1 on storm-damaged 2610-010 at milepost 0.2 to 0.9. Removed fills would be used to repair damaged sections of 2610-012 from milepost 0.0 to 0.3 to put it back into service as an ML2.

Sell property that is surplus to Forest Service needs. The property contains a number of structures\improvements, including but not limited to two residences.

Commercially variable-density thin approximately 5,000 acres. The purpose of the project is to restore and improve late-successional habitat conditions, generate economic activity, and provide jobs in the local area.

The existing culvert on Forest Road 2850 at the Trapper Creek crossing (MP 0.8), would be replaced with a structure designed to allow passage for all aquatic organisms. Structures made of rock and wood may be incorporated in the design.

Lake Sutherland Water District has held a special use permit for operation and maintenance of a water transmission to Mallard Cove Subdivision. The permit has expired, and reissuance of a new 10-year authorization is proposed.

WA Dept. of Fish and Wildlife has held a special use permit for construction and maintenance of fish habitat enhancement structures near the Bogachiel River. The permit has expired, and reissuance of a new 10-year permit is proposed.

Rocky Brook Hydroelectric Limited Partnership is seeking a new 20-year special use permit for their existing facilities. The project diverts up to 40 cubic feet per second (cfs) from Rocky Brook, with a minimum in-stream flow of 5 cfs.

Wildlife habitat enhancement activities on up to 500 acres. Includes removal of small trees (<18" dbh) and shrubs using hand tools to expand existing openings or create new openings (less than 5 acres; generally <1 acre) in densely stocked stands.

Proposed issuance of new lease to US Cellular Corporation to replace expired lease, for continued operation and maintenance of communications facilities at Neilton Point Communications Site.

Add elements of forest diversity lacking in the 1996 Rail thinning through the incorporation of variable density thinning and ensure habitat features gained are not lost. The commercial thinning is proposed to occur on 70 acres.

The Army Corps of Engineers requests a reauthorization of their existing permit to conduct training exercises at locations and schedules specifically approved in advance on the Olympic National Forest.

Clallam County Public Utility District (PUD) proposed to covert 1.2 miles of over-head line to buried line adjacent to Hwy 101 in the Klahoway Campground administrative site area. Trench will be 18" deep x 42" wide

Lake Quinault Water Company (LQWC) has requested to add a well to the system to improve water availability.

The existing information kiosk and fee station were constructed in the 1950s and are in poor structural condition. The structure would be removed and replaced with a three-panel information kiosk which would also serve as the campground fee station.

Proposed issuance of a new 10-year lease to Westside Communications, US Cellular, WCLA, and Quinault Indian Nation for continued operation of a commercial mobile radio service at Neilton Point. No construction or new activities are proposed.

Proposed issuance of new permits to Qwest Corporation DBA Centurylink QC to replace expired permit, for continued operation and maintenance of existing fiber optic and cable televison lines.

Proposed issuance of a new special use permit to Wave Broadband (formerly owned by Broadstripe LLC) for contunied authorization and maintenenace of cable television transmission line (2,600 feet) covering about 0.6 acres.

Murphy Logging is logging a Washington Dept. of Natural Resource sale adjacent to Ntl. Forest and has requested one permit for up to 6 tailholds to yard using suspension yarding. Trees will be strapped and no trees will be felled or removed.

Proposed issuance of new permits to Grays Harbor County Public Utility District (PUD) #1 and Mason County PUD #1 to replace expired permits, for continued operation and maintenance of existing buried and aerial electric transmission lines.

The project would remove and dispose of two open-sided, wooden trailer shed structures, and 9 storage sheds. These structures are in poor condition and a safety hazard and were previously part of the administrative residential site that is unoccupied

The Bonidou Pit has been identified as the rock source for the activities approved in the Sitkum Commercial Thinning Decision Notice/FONSI. This pit is also used for road maintenance and other projects requiring rock in the vicinity.

The proposed project would decommission or decommission and convert to trail approximately 36 miles of existing classified roads in the Calawah Watershed.

About four acres of young-growth conifers to the north of the currently developed area. The timber would be cut and removed through a small commercial timber sale. A short existing unclassified road would be developed to provide access from FSR2923.

Purpose is to improve safety and address maintenance needs of the water source, delivery and pump systems at the Klahowya Campground administrative site.

Project is listed as Neilton Point Communications Use Lease Reissuance project #40612. This is a duplicate project and will be cancelled and removed.

Proposes to expand an existing rock pit by four acres for the purpose of meeting anticipated rock needs and permit requests.

Replace two existing 6-foot diameter culverts with either a bridge or a larger culvert that is designed to allow passage for fish and other aquatic organisms.

We will dig an 18-24" deep trench using a ditch witch, replace failed water lines throughout the compound, install 7 new water sub meters, and coordinate relocation of the compound's main water meter.

The Smithsonian requests reauthorization of their avian research permit to study the effects of dams on terrestrial avian through sampling five songbirds: American dipper, song sparrow, Pacific wren, Townsends warblers and warbling vireo.

Oregon State Univsity paleoearthquake research entails lake sediment core sampling in 4 lakes beds on the Olympic National Forest: Beaver Lk, Lena Lk, Spider Lk, Jefferson Lk. Cores are 2.5 in. wide and up to 10 meters deep.

Remove 4 to 6 large rootwads from Col Bob Trail #851 to re-establish trail access for hikers and stock users. It is anticipated that explosives will be needed to remove these trail obstructions.

Proposal to commercially thin approximately 3,300 acres of young, previously managed forest stands in the East Fork Humptulips watershed, on the Pacific Ranger District.

Improve helicopter safety and address maintenance needs to buildings and infrastructure at the Quilcene administrative site. This can be achieved primarily through management of the vegetation and fuels on site.

Proposal to grant an easement to Green Diamond Resource Company for a segment of road approx. 200 feet in length, to provide access to their lands in the Satsop River watershed.

Proposal by Rayonier to open a closed Level 1 segment of FS Road 2900-030, use it for timber haul, and close it again after use is complete. The reconstruction and use of an existing 0.4-mile spur off the 2900-030 is also proposed.

Request from RD Merrill Company for authorization to reconstruct and use a 0.25-mile segment of FS Road 3079 and a 0.05-mile segment of unclassified road known as FS Road 3079-011 Spur, to provide access to private lands.

The project would design and install log jam structures on NF lands to enhance density and distribution of natural large woody debris in the Dosewallips River. Heavy equipment would construct log jams, helicopters may be used to transport trees.

Replace the existing 48 inch culvert with a 120 inch culvert. This upgrade would accomodate higher stream flows including debris, significantly reduce the likelihood of this crossing failing, and continue to provide vehicle access on FSR 2922.

Green Diamond Resource Company has applied for a special use permit to use 3 stumps on the forest boundary as tailholds for their logging operations in the Satsop watershed. The logging operations will start April 1 and go through May 1.

Request for issuance of a permit authorizing use of up to 15 trees as skyline tailholds to provide deflection for the cable logging of Rayonier Logging Block 29.534.

The proposed project would improve fish passage in Bockette Creek at the FSR 2902 crossing by placing log structures, spawning gravel, and rock structures directly below the culvert outlet to raise water levels through the crossing.

Proposal to conduct a prescribed burn to continue restoration initiated in 2002 on a 33-acre site in the Lower Skokomish River watershed that was historically maintained as open savanna habitat.

Removal of unauthorized stairs and blocking unauthorized trails near the overlook on the Murhut Falls Trail, Trail #828. Construction of a log railing at the overlook and improved log barriers along the trail.

Proposal by Rayonier to open a closed segment of FS Road 2923-060, use it for timber haul, and close it again after use is complete. The use of a 200-foot skid road is also proposed.

Proposal to build a 2.5-mile trail linking Hwy 101 Mt Muller trailhead to Jasmine Meadow, west of the peak of Mt Muller. Most of the proposed trail uses follows old logging roads, railroad grades, or fireline, with some sections of new construction.

One-day photoshoot involving 15 people, 2 RVs and 2 SUVs along the road. Crew will implement "Leave No Trace" practices. No generator or other noise-producing equipment will be used.

Termination of easements acquired by the USFS for a segment of Road 30 that has been bypassed by construction of a reroute.The USFS will share in the cost of decommissioning a segment of the abandoned road on State lands.

Issuance of new 10-year permit to Olympic Peninsula Guide Association for operation and maintenance of Snider Rearing Ponds.

Proposal to cut trees around the perimeter of the Neilton Point Communications Site that are encroaching on facilities or have the potential to interfere with transmissions. Tree removal would be accomplished through a small timber sale.

The Olympus Road Rally event is a timed car rally sanctioned by Rally America Inc. The proposed 2011 event includes several segments, one of which is on National Forest System lands on FSR 2190. The rally is scheduled for April 30 and May 1, 2011.

The Skokomish tribe, in conjunction with WSU and WDFW. The study involves capturing cougars, fitting them with GPS collars (up to 10), and tracking their locations for up to two years. Data will help determine cougar predation on elk and other prey.

Proposal by Rayonier Inc. to acquire easement and construct new switchback on FS Road 2923050 to provide access to provate timberlands.

Reissuance of special use permit for military tropics and river training activities conducted twice a year on the Pacific Ranger District. Current permit expires December 31, 2011.

Permanent repair to the west end of the Lake Cushman Bridge, located on FSR 2451000 at mile post 0.2, damaged in a 2007 storm. The existing temporary repair does not provide safe and adequate vehicle access to the Elk Creek and Four Stream areas.

This project proposes to commercially thin 35 to 80 year old second growth forest stands in the Sitkum/South Fork Calawah watersheds to accelerate development of late-successional forest conditions.

Removal of temporary bridge and installation of a permanent bridge at milepost 1.9 on FS Road 2160, a site that was damaged during a 2009 storm event.

Precommercially thin about 5900 acres over a 5 year period. Acres to be thinned were harvested between 1970 and about 1992. Thinning will promote desired stand conditions.
