Rail Reforestation Project

Wallowa-Whitman National Forest Baker, Oregon Whitman Ranger District

Reforestation across approximately 2800 acres of lands that experienced high levels of tree mortality as a result of the 2016 Rail Fire. Activities include hand planting of native tree species utilizing seed sources collected from the local area.

Location

The project area is located on the Wallowa Whitman National Forest approximately 5 miles west of Unity, Oregon.
