Kisatchie National Forest Claiborne, Louisiana Caney Ranger District

Reduce the possibility of catastrophic wildfire and southern pine beetle outbreak by intermediate thinning of 1,918 acres and first thinning 118 acres. Convert 222 acres back to native shortleaf pine using the clearcut harvest method.

Location

Compartments 1-4 and 6-10 on the Corney Unit of the Caney Ranger District.
