C-29 Southern Pine Beetle Hazard Reduction

Kisatchie National Forest Natchitoches, Louisiana Kisatchie Ranger District

The proposed actions include first thinnings, intermediate thinnings, and clear cuts with longleaf pine reserves. The thinning of these stands and promotion of longleaf pine will reduce the hazard rating for southern pine beetle (SPB) outbreaks.
