National Forests in Mississippi Wilkinson, Mississippi Homochitto Ranger District

Proposal to thin or restore up to 3000 acres of unthinned pine plantations to reduce the risk of SPB infestation and spread by increasing vigor of retained trees and/or restoring a more resistant tree species to appropriate sites.

Location

Project area is bounded on the west and south by the National Forest Boundary; on the north by the Homochitto River, and on the east by the Wilkinson/Amite County line. Approx. 5 miles WNW of Gloster.
