National Forests in Mississippi Amite; Franklin, Mississippi Homochitto Ranger District

Proposal to thin or restore up to 3000 acres of unthinned pine plantations to reduce the risk of SPB infestation and spread by increasing vigor of retained trees and/or restoring a more resistant tree species to appropriate sites.

Location

The project area is bounded on the west by the Wilkinson/Amite county line; north by the Homochitto River; south by the Forest Service boundary, and east by hwy US98.
