De Soto National Forest proposes longleaf pine ecosystem restoration & habitat improvement for Red-cockaded woodpecker, gopher tortoise, black pine snake, & gopher frog - increasing longleaf pine & natural fire regimes, & reducing hazardous fuels.

Location

The project area encompasses all sites appropriate for longleaf pine and threatened and endangered species in fire dependent ecosystems on De Soto National Forest in southeastern Mississippi.
