Kirtland's Warbler Habitat Improvement Project

Chequamegon-Nicolet National Forest Bayfield, Wisconsin Washburn Ranger District

The District is proposing to create habitat for the federally endangered Kirtland’s Warbler. The project involves a 263 acre block of jack pine that will be regenerated, prescribed burned and planted to create one large block of young jack pine.

Location

The north end of the Washburn Ranger District near the Moquah Barrens. Seven miles east of the Town of Iron River, WI.
