Chippewa National Forest Beltrami; Cass; Itasca, Minnesota Chippewa National Forest All Units

July 2012 wind storm resulted in approximately 20,000 acres of moderate/severe blowdown. Project focuses on ecosystem restoration, some salvage, reforestation activities, and landscape level burns.

Location

Damage area is roughly 10 miles by 40 miles through the middle of the Forest and on either side of Hwy 2.
