North Winnie Mountain Maple Regeneration Project

Chippewa National Forest Itasca, Minnesota Blackduck Ranger District

The purpose is to regenerate mountain maple stands to improve white-tailed deer winter range by increasing the availability of winter browse. Activities are hand cutting about 8 acres of mountain maple in two stands.

Location

Within the LLBO Reservation; along Forest System Roads 2383 and 3139 north of Lake Winnibigoshish in T147N, R28W, Sections 15 and 18.
