Piping Plover Nesting Habitat Enhancement Project

Huron-Manistee National Forests Mason, Michigan Cadillac/Manistee Ranger District

Each year, prior to plovers returning from winter habitats, Forest Service biologists would identify small (<0.1-acre patches, not to exceed 10 acres in total surface area per year) areas for cobble placement along the Lake Michigan shoreline.

Location

The Lake Michigan shoreline on National Forest System Lands within the Manistee National Forest, Mason County, Grant Township.
