Wildlife Habitat Enhancement Project

Mark Twain National Forest Butler; Wayne, Missouri Poplar Bluff Ranger District

Four areas consisting of a mix of field and forest will be prescribe burned to control hardwood encroachment. Saplings may also be cut using chainsaws or a masticator head (skid steer). Native seed will be scattered to enhance herbaceous vegetation.

Location

One area in Butler County and 2 areas in Wayne County, and one area crosses into both Butler and Wayne Counties. These areas are known as Adams Tract, King Tract, Hockinberry Hollow, and Wolf Hollow.
