The BLM, in coordination with the U.S. Department of Agriculture, Forest Service (Forest Service) as a cooperating agency, prepared this EA to analyze the potential impacts that would result from approval of their proposed Mine Plan of Operation.

The construction of a trailhead and parking area adjacent to Banner Road, (Oregon County Road 430) and a trail connecting to the Blue Ridge Horse Trail, will create a designated western trailhead and terminus for the Blue Ridge Horse Trail.

The purpose of the Solomon Hollow Prescribed Burn and Cedar Removal Project is to restore, maintain and enhance the Roubidoux sandstone glades and savanna ecosystem within Solomon Hollow State Natural Area.

In May 2019, high winds resulted in trees being blowdown and damaged along and near the Garner Special Use Road. All blown down, root sprung and wind damaged trees will be harvested (18 acres).

District Ranger proposes to mitigate a safety concern caused by undercut, overhanging unstable concrete associated with the old mill dam. The project consists of using explosives to remove the unstable portions and reduce impacts to rest of the dam.

The primary purpose of this proposed action is to bring the existing grazing allotments into compliance with the Mark Twain National Forest 2005 Land and Resource Management Plan (2005 Forest Plan) and current environmental laws

Amend the Forest Plan by modifying and adding standards and guidelines for threatened and endangered aquatic species, and for sensitive bat species. These species were not listed when the Forest Plan was originally approved.

Restore bottomlands by restoring wetlands along the West Fork of the Black River (lands aquired from land exchange in 2008)- restore springs and water flow, remove ditches, dig out depressions and built small dams to capture water flow.

This project will replace the Brickey Slab low-water crossing on Crawford County Road 726 on Huzzah Creek. Replacing the crossing will improve public safety, aquatic organism passage (AOP), stream habitat, and morphology.

The Salem Ranger District is proposing the construction of a new motorized trail bypass and rehabilitation and closure of the illegal trail.

This project is being proposed due to the poor condition of existing trail. Decommission is proposed for existing trail including tread rehabilitation and erosion mitigation measures. New trail construction (3.95 miles) is proposed in its place.

This project will close non-system roads, add a section of system road to access a parking area for river recreation, and revegetate a pipeline corridor.

A 2009 storm event caused catastrophic damage to thousands of acres of timber creating extreme hazardous fuel loading in the Bunker WUI. Fuel loads will be reduced through mechanical fuels treatments and prescribed burning.

The District is proposing this project to address declining forest health in the project area; also, to enhance native plant and wildlife communities, provide opportunities for timber products, and allow for improvements to dispersed recreation.

Management activities directed primarily toward improving habitat conditions for the Indiana bat.

The Houston/Rolla/Cedar Creek Ranger District is proposing several actions (Precribed burn and Pre-commercial thinning) for the purpose of fuels management and improving the areas Forest Health.

The Houston/Rolla/Cedar Creek Ranger District is proposing several actions for the purpose of improving the areas Indiana bat and other wildlife habitat.

The action proposed is to apply aquatic-safe formulations of the herbicide Glyphosate to nuissance plants in this lake.The proposed actions would occur during the growing season (spring and summer months). One treatment per year would be needed.

Install cave gates to protect endangered species and cave. Remove existing gate. Construct a temporary road approximately 2,000 foot long and improve existing route to support project actions. Clear brush and small trees from less than 0.10 acre.

This project is proposed to restore glade ecosystems by removing eastern red cedar and thinning hardwoods and pine to enhance wildlife habitat and reduce hazardous fuels through judicious use of timber management practices and prescribed fire.
