Approximately 1,000 seedlings from blight-resistant American chestnut trees would be planted in a 3-acre area of a clearcut that failed to regenerate due to deer browsing. A fence would be constructed to protect the seedlings.

Location

South of Thornwood, Lake Buffalo, and Forest Road 54D. In stand 75 of Compartment 98.
