Chugach National Forest Anchorage; Kenai Peninsula, Alaska Glacier Ranger District

AKRR is proposing to install remote avalanche control (RAC) towers at MP71.2 and MP69.9 Seward Hwy and at MP 6.8 Portage Hwy. Construction will occur over the next few years as funding is available.

Location

Remote Avalanche Towers will be installed along Turnagain Arm at MP71.2 and MP69.9 Seward Hwy and at MP 6.8 Portage Hwy near the Whittier Tunnel.
